Why Pharmaceutical Grade Supplements are Better Than Retail

Why Pharmaceutical Grade Supplements are Better Than Retail

Rachel Stephens, IHP2 here! Today I want to talk about the importance of choosing pharmaceutical grade supplements and specifically, what sets them apart from retail brands.

Pharmaceutical grade supplements are widely recognized as the highest quality supplements available on the market. These supplements undergo rigorous testing and quality control measures to ensure that they meet the highest standards for safety and efficacy. In contrast, retail supplements are often less rigorously tested and may contain lower quality ingredients, fillers, or contaminants. In this blog post, we'll explore the reasons why pharmaceutical grade supplements are better than retail.

This is a topic I am EXTREMELY passionate about. It’s my belief that high quality, nutritional supplements should be a part of everyones daily life. We live in a time when our food simply just isn’t giving us the level of nutrition needed. Our soil is depleted of nutrients which means the food we’re consuming is not absorbing all the vital nutrients we need. Additionally, most people are burdened with increased stress and toxins in their daily lives. The level of support we need in today’s world is higher than it’s ever been. This is where supplementation comes in!

However, the supplement industry has been convoluted with retail brand after retail brand producing low quality formulas that simply don’t work, giving the industry a bad name.

Question: How many of you have purchased a fish oil from Costco/Target only to get a fishy burp when you take it and not notice any other differences? News flash, this is because it’s not being absorbed correctly!

Or maybe you’ve purchased an energy supplement from an online influencer only to notice bright yellow urine and no change in your energy levels (in this case, you’re quite literally urinating it out). If you’ve tried a retail brand supplement and noticed no difference in your health and well-being, it may turn you off to the supplement world completely.

On the other hand, I’ve witnessed supplements quite literally change peoples lives! When we use high quality formulas, taken in the right dose and at the right time, they work wonders!

This is where I come in! Think of me as your Supplement Guru, here to help you make the right choices about which brands to use, how to take them and, what formulas you need for your unique body! I truly believe the formulas I recommend here WILL change lives. It’s science. It’s facts!

Okay…let’s get into the technical information! It’s going to get a bit dry but, this is important stuff my friends. :)

Purity and Quality Control:

Pharmaceutical grade supplements are manufactured according to the highest standards of purity and quality control. This means that the raw materials used in these supplements are carefully sourced and tested for purity and potency. In addition, the manufacturing process is closely monitored and controlled to ensure that the final product is of the highest quality. This is important because supplements that are contaminated or contain lower quality ingredients may not be effective or could even be harmful to your health.

In contrast, retail supplements may not undergo the same level of testing or quality control measures. This can result in supplements that are of lower quality or contain impurities. These can actually do more harm than good to your body, in some cases.

As a result, it's important to choose supplements that are manufactured according to pharmaceutical grade standards to ensure that you're getting a high-quality product.

Absorption and Bioavailability:

Pharmaceutical grade supplements are designed to be easily absorbed by the body and have high bioavailability. This means that the body can effectively use the nutrients in the supplement to support health and well-being. In contrast, retail supplements may contain lower quality ingredients that are less bioavailable or may not be absorbed as effectively by the body. This can result in supplements that are less effective or require higher doses to achieve the desired health benefits.

Consistency and Standardization:

Pharmaceutical grade supplements are standardized, which means that they contain consistent amounts of active ingredients from batch to batch. This is important because it ensures that you're getting a consistent dose of the supplement each time you take it. In contrast, retail supplements may not be standardized, which can result in inconsistent dosing and variability in the effectiveness of the supplement.

Safety and Efficacy:

Pharmaceutical grade supplements are tested for safety and efficacy in clinical trials before they are made available to the public. This means that they have been studied extensively and have been shown to be safe and effective for their intended use.

In addition, pharmaceutical grade supplements are typically recommended by healthcare professionals and are often used in clinical settings to support patient health and well-being.

In contrast, retail supplements may not have been subject to the same level of testing or may not have been studied in clinical trials. This can make it difficult to assess their safety and efficacy. In addition, some retail supplements may make exaggerated claims about their health benefits or contain ingredients that are not well-studied or may even be harmful.

There are many reasons why pharmaceutical grade supplements are better than retail supplements. These supplements are manufactured according to the highest standards of purity and quality control, are easily absorbed by the body, are consistent and standardized, and have been extensively studied for safety and efficacy. If you're looking for high-quality supplements to support your health and well-being, it's important to choose pharmaceutical grade supplements that have been recommended by a healthcare professional, like myself!

It makes me so sad the industry gets a bad name because of low quality brands taking advantage of the market. I hope to play a role in change that narrative.

When it comes to supplements, quality matters! Your body is worth getting the good stuff! I promise!
